Therapeutic massage focuses on overall relaxation of muscular tension while decreasing pain, improving circulation, and increasing range of motion. A variety of techniques are used to mobilize muscular tissue and promote flexilibility and optimal function of muscles, tendons and ligaments. Hydrotherapy (use of heat or cold applied to a targeted area) can be used for additional beneficial effects.
All lubricants used are unscented and hypoallergenic; however, aromatherapy can be incorporated into your treatment upon request. Only pure essential oils and essential oil blends are used for aromatherapy - no fragrance oils or synthetics.
Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that targets tension in the deeper areas of muscle tissue in the body. Deep tissue work is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas and triggerpoint activity due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past injuries. Due to the nature of the work, open communication during the session is crucial to work within the client's tolerance to pressure.
Sports Massage can involve a combination of deep tissue work and joint mobilization therapy, plus passive and active range of motion stretches and guided movement to address problem areas for both serious athletes and "weekend warriors".
Please note that temporary soreness can be common following a treatment. Keeping yourself well hydrated will aid the body's removal of toxins released from deep tissue during the session.

Chair massage is typically completed in shorter sessions than a full Swedish massage session and can be performed at your workplace or home. Clients are seated, fully dressed, in an ergonomic massage chair designed to allow the therapist access to the head, neck, arms, back and shoulders. No massage lubricant is utilized. It can be a great way to introduce clients to the profound benefits of massage in a very short time.
Chair massage offers significant results in terms of relaxation and stress reduction, and is a fantastic idea for team building events, employee health benefit programs, "Girls' Night In", or charity functions!
Reiki is a method of energy work developed in Japan during the early 20th century in which the practitioner assists the client in rebalancing their physical, spiritual, mental and emotional energies, while gently addressing blockages or problem areas. It is performed with the client fully clothed and is safe and noninvasive. Reiki can be performed as a hands-on or non-touch therapy depending on the needs and preferences of the client.

Probably 90% of my clients receive what I call "maintenance care". It's as sensible as getting your teeth cleaned regularly. When you first start treatment, you may need some extra sessions to clear up old issues, restore body awareness, and develop a program of self care at home. Once you're in good shape, I usually don't need to see you unless you sustain a new injury.
The reason so many of my clients get better and stay that way is by investing in their own health with a Wellness Package.
Simply put, you buy a block of time with me. The more time you buy, the lower the cost per hour. You may split up this time in any way you choose: 30-minute sessions, 60 minutes, 90 minutes...you may share your package with your partner or family members. You may share your package with a friend, and I'll even give you a gift certificate if you'd like to give some of your package as a present! You may pay in a lump sum OR pay as you go! The only stipulation is that if you commit to a package, I ask that you use the time up within a year.
Massage therapy once or twice a year feels great, but the average person needs more regular attention. If it took you years to get to the pain level you put up with now, one or two sessions won't fix it. Regular care, however, gets you better and keeps you there; and if you do overdo an activity or injure yourself, you will recover faster.
